I am Debbie Williams and so excited to be teaching at Lynwood Christian Academy. I am a hometown Cape girl. Born and raised in Cape Girardeau. I attended Cape public School and graduated from Cape Central High School in 1978! Wow! That seems like a long time ago! I got my undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University and my graduate degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University. I have an MEd. in Administration from William Woods University, in Fulton, Missouri. I also have some hours towards a specialist degree in education. I have been teaching for twenty-two years. I taught kindergarten for a year in Marquand, Missouri, then moved to Thomas W. Kelly (Scott County R4) Elementary for twelve years. While there I taught kindergarten and first grade. I was also involved in many committees. It was a wonderful experience. I came to what was then Cape Christian School in the 2012/2013 school year. My first year there I taught third grade and the following year I returned to first grade. I have taught for a total of nine years at our school.
I feel a true calling to teach and have since the Lord spoke to me at the age of twelve years old. I was raised in a Christian home and attended Scott City Assembly of God. Where I was actively involved in our youth group and taught Sunday school. I married Carroll Williams in 1993 and we became members of Lynwood Baptist Church in 1994. I have one son Lance and his lovely wife Jesse. They just recently had a little girl, Fiona! She is beautiful and I am Oma! I also have two stepsons Steve and Kevin Williams and their wonderful families. They have been a wonderful blessing to me. I love music and singing, Carroll and I love to play golf and go to Cardinals baseball games! We have one golden retriever named Brodie. He is so sweet. I love living in Cape Girardeau and being involved in the community and Lynwood Christian Academy.
I know God is faithful and has proved that over and over to me. These verses are such a blessing to me. I said, “You are my servant; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am with you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:9-10. I am so thankful and grateful for God’s renewing mercies each day! The joy of the Lord is my strength!
