PE Coach / Administration
Originally from Dexter, MO. Carroll Williams graduated from Ritenour High School in St. Louis County in 1955 and enrolled in Southeast Missouri State University in the fall of 1955. This began a long relationship with SEMO and the education profession. Coach Williams graduated from SEMO in 1959 with majors in Health and Physical Education as well as a Social Studies Teaching major. The 1959-60 academic year was spent as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Missouri. Upon graduation he returned to SEMO as the Supervisor of Physical Education and Head Basketball Coach at College High School, a lab school of Southeast Missouri State.
Coach Williams taught and coached there until 1970 when he moved to the University Athletic Department. He held many positions there including, Assistant Basketball Coach, Head Basketball Coach, Golf Coach, Athletic Director, and other positions until he finally retired in the spring of 2005, culminating a 50 year relationship with Southeast Missouri State
He then assumed a position in the Cape Public School in their Basketball program as well as teaching at the Alternative Education Center for 8 years.
While there, he also coached Golf at Saxony High School. He also became involved with Cape Christian School in their Athletic and Physical Education departments as a volunteer. In the spring of 2017 he assumed the role of Principal and filled that role until the Spring of 2021. At the beginning of the 2021-2022 this will be the 67th year that Coach Williams has been involved in the teaching and coaching of youngsters in the Southeast Missouri area, having begun as a student assistant to Ralph Pink at SEMO in the fall of 1956.
Coach Williams is married to Debbie, who teaches First Grade at Lynwood Christian Academy. They belong to Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. You will find them on the golf course now and in the future.
